Pinkie
So, i've come across this print in a cute little frame. It was in the hallway, hidden under a shirt and waiting for me to find it agian.
So i did find it, and was going to scan it thinking it wasn't an important piece of art, small as it is, Dad told me it was a Pink Lady, so i of course googled it, and finally found it.

oil on canvas, 58 1/4 x 40 1/4 inches
Pinkie, facing The Blue Boy in the Thornton Portrait Gallery and often paired with it in popular esteem, is by Thomas Lawrence, one of the great portrait painters of his generation. It was painted about 25 years after Gainsborough's masterpiece and had no association with that work until they both were displayed in the Huntington in the late 1920s.
Executed when the artist was only 25 and shortly after his election to the Royal Academy, Pinkie is an extraordinarily fresh and lively performance with the sitter standing on a hill, her dress blown by the wind. The movement of her dress in conjunction with her frank gaze gives a sense of immediacy to the composition and expresses the animation of the sitter. The young girl was the daughter of a wealthy plantation family in Jamaica, who came to England for her education. Called "Pinkie" by her grandmother who commissioned the portrait, she was only eleven when her likeness was taken. Sadly, Sarah died within a few months of the portrait's completion, probably of tuberculosis. Her younger brother Edward was the father of the poetess Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
Pinkie was the last painting purchased by Mr. Huntington, who did not live to see it installed in the house.
I really like this painting, and will be keeping it forever. Unless of course it's worth some cash.
Either way, it's awesome.

Powerhouse
They started the demo of the Powerhouse. The west side of the building is exposed to the world. I was out taking pictures, and therefore, a bit dusty. The whole powerhouse demo is kinda depressing, it's like a neighbor that's moving away never to come back again.
I'm trying to imagine how it's going to look when i look out the window that faces the powerhouse, i have this grand bueatiful green landscape park, with a swingset and a repostioned creek. I'd hate to have that wonderful image shattered.
When they take the smokestack out, i'll be happy, I'm still wondering how that's going to work, maybe they are ripping out all the concrete around it like they did with the Brick Smokestack they tore down a few years ago. To have it standing alone in a vase feild of rubble and whatnot.

Lennon Michigan
Everytime we go anywhere near Flint or Saginaw, i always want to go to Lennon. Today we finally did. I've never been, and we were the for a grand total of 15 minutes. Plenty of time for photo-ops.
Why you ask? Why would I want to go to Lennon Michigan? If you know me at all, you know the answer to this question.
The Beatles.
Also, there isn't a McCartney Michigan, i'd totally go there too. I know there is a Starr and Harrison MI. I should check them out.
So, here are the pictures you all wanted to see.

Take a Picture......(okay, i will)
My brother Kipp, works for Ben and Jerry's, and he runs alot of the stands in the Amusement Parks, so, a few weeks ago, he was in Cedar Point, taking pictures of the Roller Coasters under the snow. I've decided to share some with you.

Conan O'Brien
Happy New Year....
So, for a long time, i stopped watching Conan, either i was too tired or to busy to watch. Well, not anymore, you want to know why?
This is why....
I'll be honest, i'm not really a big fan of guys with beards, some can wear them, some cannot. Conan O'Brien can. At first when i saw him, i thought, nah, that's fake, Conan can't grow a beard. Apparently he can.
I've missed Conan, and will now watch him as much as humanly possible, that is if i can stay up late enough...
Horray for Conan. Go watch the clips on the website i provided, it's good viewing.
